The "Unknown Soldiers of the Imam of the Time" (a term referring to Iranian intelligence/security agents) - operating within the Najaf Ashraf Headquarters and the Ansar al-Rasul Brigade of the IRGC Ground Forces - have announced the dismantling of a two-person team affiliated with foreign intelligence services, along with the seizure of a cache of weapons and communication equipment.
Seizure of Starlink Communication Equipment and a Cache of Weapons
Through continuous monitoring and comprehensive oversight of border and regional movements, IRGC personnel successfully intercepted and seized 10 Starlink satellite internet terminals, 10 Kalashnikov rifles, and 5,000 rounds of live ammunition from this team.
Confessions of the Accused Regarding Recruitment and Exploitation via Cyberspace
One of the arrested individuals, in his initial confession, described how he established contact with hostile intelligence services: "Previously, my cousin and I were involved in the smuggling of goods. About 10 days ago, an unknown person - claiming to reside in Kurdistan - contacted me via the Telegram messaging app. After some initial pleasantries and gaining my trust, he proposed that I transport a package for him in exchange for a sum of money."
Claiming that he had unwittingly fallen into the trap of this terrorist network, the suspect added: "My cousin and I set out to transport the package, at which point we were caught by IRGC intelligence forces." "Betrayal of one’s land and homeland leads only to regret and captivity. I urge the public - especially the youth - not to be deceived by suspicious offers encountered online, as these networks exploit individuals to further their own agendas."
