Yemeni forces are attacking the Al-Muqattera area from three axes.

And if they manage to gain control of it, they will have solidified their control over the last mountainous highlands in the Taiz countryside, which would open the path for their advance toward Turat al-Baha, placing them on the outskirts of Aden.

It is noted that Al-Muqattera falls administratively under Lahij Governorate, while it is historically linked to the Al-Hajriya area.
